Diabetic Nutritional Shake with DHA

Helps diabetics maintain glucose levels and cardiovascular health

PBM formulated its diabetic nutritional shake with DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) to help diabetics maintain their glucose levels and a healthy cardiovascular system.  The drink also contains L-arginine, an amino acid that has been found to help diabetics by reducing inflammation. 

A New Formulation

In an effort to improve upon this groundbreaking product, PBM recently reformulated the ingredients by removing fructose and increasing the existing level of sucralose, which compensates for the loss of sweetening from fructose. This move further supports the company’s commitment to creating heart-healthy offerings for diabetics.

By removing fructose from the product, our new formulation is in keeping with the American Diabetes Association's new statement on "Evidence-Based Nutrition Principles and Recommendations for the Treatment and Prevention of Diabetes and Related Complications," which advises that diabetics avoid the use of fructose to sweeten food because fructose may adversely affect plasma lipids.

The new diabetic drink with DHA is also high in fiber, a characteristic shown in recent studies to improve diabetic reactions to other carbohydrates. Although fiber is listed as a carbohydrate on U.S. food labels, fiber, unlike other carbohydrates, is not broken down during digestion and does not contribute calories or effective carbohydrates to the diet. Fiber—especially soluble fiber—is very important for all diets, but is particularly helpful for diabetics because it helps stabilize blood glucose levels and improves blood cholesterol levels by slowing digestion and nutrient absorption.
