Tom Gehrig is the Vice President of Quality for PBM Products, where he is responsible for Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Compliance, and maintaining a high level of system compliance and oversight of third-party vendors and partners.

Mr. Gehrig has more than 25 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control with leading food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical companies such as Armour Food Company, Nestle USA, and Wyeth. He is a seasoned executive who has a proven track record in quality systems, regulatory compliance, SOP development, validation, training, investigations, auditing, and working with contract manufacturers. He also has great technical experience in thermal processing, spray-drying, agglomeration, dry blending, aseptic processing, terminal sterilization, form-fill seal, and liquid and powder packaging processes.

Before joining PBM, Mr. Gehrig worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as Assistant Vice President, Network Quality & Compliance. At Wyeth he had direct network quality projects and initiatives for seven solid-oral and sterile manufacturing sites and affiliates in Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, and the United States. In addition, Mr. Gehrig worked in the Nutrition division of Wyeth as their Technical Director and then Assistant Vice President of Quality Operations, where he was responsible for an annual budget of $23 million. He worked collaboratively with manufacturing, product development, and regulatory affairs to design and implement global quality systems. Ultimately, he was responsible for making certain that infant nutritional products met corporate standards and international quality and compliance regulations.

While working for Nestle USA, Mr. Gehrig climbed the ranks very quickly and became Technical Manager for the Nutrition Division which produced infant formula, clinical medical foods, and adult nutrition products in bottles, cans, and F-F-S pouches using aseptic and post-sterilization technologies. He directed and coordinated technical activity between the factory, R&D, and corporate offices in California and Switzerland. Other positions held at Nestle were included R&D Coordinator, Manufacturing Technical Advisor, Project Leader, and Manager of Product Technology.

At Armour Food Company, Mr. Gehrig held the position of Research Associate and managed R&D operations for their ingredients group. His responsibilities included new product development, experimental design, pilot-plant management, cost/quality improvements, and customer technical support. He then was promoted to Technical & Quality Director and oversaw technical services, quality assurance and quality control, as well as safety programs for two food ingredient factories. Operations included custom spray drying and dry blending of bulk food ingredients, continuous butter churning, enzyme modified foods, and milk evaporation.

Mr. Gehrig earned his Bachelor of Science in Dairy Technology from the University of Vermont and his Masters in Food Science and Technology from Texas A&M University.
